Ammonites are fossilized Ammonoids, which are an extinct group of marine mollusc animals in the subclass Ammonoidea. Ammonites make excellent index fossils to pinpoint exact geological time periods. The ammonoid cephalopods became extinct along with the dinosaurs at the close of the Cretaceous era.
This ring has an oval-shaped stunning Ammolite specimen set into a unique and masculine .925 silver setting. The design compliments the Ammolite wonderfully, and the Ammolite itself shows off an incredibly eye-catching vibrant green. In person there is a small amount of jewel-toned blue as well, along with portions with amber colored flashes.
Ammonite is a fascinating fossil to study, and it is even believed to carry metaphysical benefits. The spiral shaping is thought to symbolize continual change, and it is thought that because of their great age they have absorbed energy throughout the eons and can be used to stimulate Chi (life-force).
