Ammonites are fossilized Ammonoids, which are an extinct group of marine mollusc animals in the subclass Ammonoidea. Ammonites make excellent index fossils to pinpoint exact geological time periods. The ammonoid cephalopods became extinct along with the dinosaurs at the close of the Cretaceous era.

This Ammonite specimen is particularly rare because of the incredible natural shape it has maintained through the years and the exceptional detail put into unveiling this fossil from it's matrix without leaving any damage to the specimen itself. The color is a deep bronze and the dips and curves of this creature gives us a great look at one of history's most enduring species.

Ammonite is a fascinating fossil to study, and it is believed to carry metaphysical benefits. The spiral shaping is thought to symbolize continual change, and it is believed that because of their great age they have absorbed energy throughout the eons and can be used to stimulate Chi (life-force).
