Azurite is an Azure to dark blue secondary copper mineral that is frequently pseudomorphed to, (and found with), Malachite. Azurite is in the monoclinic crystal system, and has a Mohs hardness of around 3.5 to 4. Ground Azurite is used as a pigment because of it's vibrant color.

This Azurite specimen shows an exceptional range of natural color; the distinct blue that Azurite is known for is remarkably vibrant in this piece, and the rich copper-brown colored matrix absolutely emphasizes the vivid blue. There is crystal Quartz along the one face, which adds further depth and character to this piece!

Azulite is widely thought to help aid intuitive development and enlightenment by stimulating the Third Eye. It is also believed to help enable safe and protected trips beyond the physical body into the spiritual realm. It is also said to expand the mind and comprehension... overall a very spiritual stone!
